Digital Revolution at the Barbican

I visited the Barbican last week for their new exhibition ‘Digital Revolution‘. It runs until 14 September 2014 and I’d recommend it if you get the chance. It’s an opportunity for those of us working in web to look at all things digital from different perspectives.

The exhibition covers art, design, film, music and video games. Highlights for me included a multi-screen anatomy of a shot from Gravity, large-scale interactive rooms from Marshmallow Laser Feast and Umbrellium, an indie game playground attracting all ages, and nostalgic glimpses of Manic Miner, Elite, Netscape, Super Mario Brothers and Bamboozle!

As with the Bill Viola exhibition I saw in Paris last month, it was good to see a major venue encouraging visitors to photograph the exhbition and share images online.
