The Real Deal! Graduation footage used in latest Coca-Cola campaign

Coca-Cola have picked up footage that I shot with Angela Slater in 2011 for their latest international tv campaign, #ReasonsToBelieve.

The clip is taken from a series of interviews we conducted with graduating students and their parents. I’ve always liked the moment that the graduate and his mum embraced, so it’s fun to see it being used in this way. Our clip appears after 16 seconds; blink and you’ll miss it!

It’s also served as a good reminder of the value of the processes that we’ve put in place for our video projects. We were able to provide the agency with a HD file because we’ve kept archives of our original footage. We could track down everyone appearing in the clip because we’ve kept records and permissions data. I like to think that the work we put into metadata, transcription and search engine optimisation for videos made it easily findable for the researchers looking for footage.
